Position Summary:

The Smart Cities Specialist (SCS) provides technical expertise and support on various smart city projects, initiatives and pilot projects; assist with enhancing the Smart City innovation program for the City of Albuquerque.  Provide technical support and expertise to innovate new and forthcoming Smart City efforts, identifying priorities for the design and implementation of Smart City strategies and solutions.  Perform a variety of tasks to support upper-level management; receiving a significant amount of supervision from the Smart Cities Lead position.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements:
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or directly related field; and
One (1) year of experience in any of the following areas:
Selection and configuration of end user devices
Analyzing and assessing enterprise-wide strategic technology planning and infrastructure
Internet of Things (IoT) development
May be required to work occasional weekends and provide after-hours support, including evenings and weekends.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's license, or ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP), within 6 months from date of hire.
Successful completion of Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check, within 6 months from date of hire.
Possession of OSHA Bucket Truck certification, within 6 months from date of hire.
Preferred Knowledge:
Principals, theories and practices of electronic equipment diagnostics and repair
Principals, theories and practices of data networking to include installation, maintenance, and repair
Methods and techniques in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems
Methods and techniques of application systems analysis, development, design, programming, testing and implementation of applications software
Methods and techniques used in maintaining information system security
Methods and techniques used in the installation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of PCs, servers, printers and related equipment
Computer programs, networks, software applications and programming languages related to smart cities technology
Budget, contract, purchasing practices
Report writing, data compilation and record keeping
Principles and practices of customer service
Methods and techniques used in the installation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of PCs, servers, printers and related equipment
Pertinent City, State, Federal, laws, codes, policies and regulations
