Bio:
Dr. Shelly Gruenig is Founding Executive Director of R4Creating, a locally grown nonprofit in STEM, (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), coach of an award winning competitive robotics program, founder of Girls Into Tech and co-host of the podcast, STEM Southwest. In 2020 Gruenig was inducted into the VEX STEM Hall of Fame and selected to receive the New Mexico Women in Technology Award. Gruenig has brought much positive notoriety to our state by coaching students in robotics into 2 World Awards, 8 Regional Championships and 17 State Championships and being a Board member of the Global Robotics Education and Competition Foundation.
The NMTC Women in Tech peer group is a supportive community specifically designed for women working in various technology-related fields to address gender diversity issues and empower women in the tech industry and create a space where women can connect, collaborate, and support each other in their career endeavors. Members of these peer groups share experiences, insights, and challenges unique to women in technology, discussing topics like overcoming gender biases, achieving work-life balance, navigating career growth, and promoting inclusivity in the tech sector. Additionally, they may invite guest speakers, industry leaders, and mentors to provide guidance and inspiration to women pursuing careers in technology.
