Autogen is a framework developed by Microsoft that enables the creation of applications using multiple AI agents. These agents can converse with each other to solve tasks and are customizable, allowing for human participation. They operate in various modes that employ combinations of Large Language Models (LLMs), human inputs, and tools. Autogen is designed to simplify the orchestration, automation, and optimization of complex LLM workflows.
On the other hand, CrewAI is an AI agent library that facilitates the building and coordination of groups of specialized AI agents. Each agent in CrewAI is an autonomous unit programmed to perform tasks, make decisions, and communicate with other agents⁵. They have attributes such as role, goal, backstory, and tools, which define their function within the team. CrewAI's built-in delegation and communication mechanisms allow for dynamic task management and problem-solving within the crew.

Within AI peer groups, individuals discuss emerging trends, best practices, challenges, and ethical considerations in AI development and deployment. They may also invite experts, industry leaders, and practitioners to deliver talks or presentations, fostering learning opportunities and providing diverse perspectives within the field.
