The New Mexico Technology Council (NMTC) is hosting the inaugural Technology Day at the NM State Legislature on March 20, 2025, at the New Mexico State Capitol in Santa Fe.
Who: The event is organized by NMTC and attendance is open to all stakeholders in New Mexico's technology sector, including entrepreneurs, executives, educators, and legislators.
What: Technology Day serves as an opportunity for participants to network with state legislators, promote policy initiatives, and highlight the tech industry's contributions to New Mexico's economy.
Where: The event will take place at the New Mexico State Capitol, commonly known as the Roundhouse, located in Santa Fe.
Why: Supporting the technology industry is vital for New Mexico's economic development. The tech sector has an estimated direct economic impact of $9 billion, accounting for about 10.4% of the state's economy. Net tech employment in the state stands at 67,179, representing approximately 7.6% of New Mexico's total workforce.
By participating in the NMTC Technology Day, attendees can directly influence policies that foster a thriving tech ecosystem, ensuring sustained economic growth and positioning New Mexico as a leader in technology and innovation.
