New Mexico Information Technology Apprenticeship Program (NMITAP) at CNM Ingenuity NMITAP is a program to assist in the training of apprentices to meet the growing demand for IT professionals. In New Mexico alone, the IT sector is expected to grow 20.7% between 2010 and 2020. In this interactive presentation, potential employers and apprentices will learn more about how NMITAP works and how to get involved. Program benefits include: • Assessment — we assess all apprentices to determine their job readiness. • Skills development and onboarding — we coach apprentices and get them ready for work. • Entrepreneurial Mindset Employee Development — a 15-hour program designed to empower apprentices to think like entrepreneurs. Speaker: Sue Buffington - Director, New Mexico Information Technology Apprenticeship Program at CNM Ingenuity. Sue Buffington is the Director of the New Mexico Information Technology Apprenticeship Program (NMITAP) at CNM Ingenuity. NMITAP is funded by the Department of Labor and is the first Registered Apprenticeship Program in Information Technology in New Mexico. Sue received her B.A. in Communication Studies from the State University of New York at Oswego and her M.S. in Career and Human Resource Development from Rochester Institute of Technology. She is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator. Sue has spent most of her career working in higher education, with positions held in Career Services, Public Relations, Development and Student Services. Her most recent position was running a large federal grant program for early career students in the School of Engineering at UNM.
